Are there any requirements to register, such as prerequisite experience or educational requirements?

Do you have any resources that can help me approach my employer about funding my CPTM certification? 

Yes! Please  download the Approaching Your Employer kit. It contains information you can use to gain your employer’s support for CPTM certification, including a sample request letter template. 

How is the CPTM credential different from other learning and development certifications?

There are many certifications available for training professionals, which differ in scope and focus. However, the CPTM credential is the only certification focused specifically on the role of the training manager. The program is designed to impart the critical competencies needed to manage a training organization; by successfully passing the certification exam and earning the credential, you’ll designate that you have mastered the competencies of a successful training manger. ABOUT THE ONLINE LEARNING MODULES

When will I be able to access the online courses or learning modules? 

You will receive access to the self-paced online learning modules within two business days after you have registered for the program. 

How long will it take to complete the online modules? 

We recommend that you plan to spend 2-5 hours per module, or 20-50 hours in total; we also recommend that you select a practicum date that gives you 4-6 weeks to complete all 10 modules before you participate in the practicum (although the program can be completed in less time).

Is there any homework in the online courses? 

Yes. You will be given the opportunity to complete on-the-job aids to help you apply key concepts in your current work environment. 

Are there any tests associated with the online learning? 

Yes. There is an assessment at the end of each module, allowing you to test your knowledge.

ABOUT THE PRACTICUM

Which practicum will I be scheduled to attend? 

You must select a practicum when you register for the CPTM training program: click here for a list of upcoming practicums and dates. 

ABOUT THE CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION

When can I take the exam?

The exam will become available in the LMS on the last day of your practicum.

What happens after I pass the exam?

You will receive a CPTM certification packet, including a certificate of achievement and digital badge designating your credential, and you will be welcomed into the CPTM alumni community, giving you access to exclusive continuing professional development events. CONTINUING EDUCATION AND CPTM RECERTIFICATION

Will I need to take ongoing training to maintain my CPTM certification? 

Yes. You will be expected to complete 24 hours of ongoing training within your two-year certification period. Training Industry provides CPTMs with a number of continuing education opportunities, which are available to CPTM alumni at no additional cost. 

What type of training qualifies toward recertification? 

Participation in industry conferences, webinars, and other industry-relevant training or events count toward your two-year, 24-hour recertification requirement. Training Industry facilitates CPTM recertification learning through regularly scheduled CPTM webinars, roundtables and other special events.

How can I certify my L&D team?

I have a meeting or other conflict that will prevent me from attending the full session. Is that OK? 

Because the program is interactive and includes numerous group activities, we do not recommend missing any part of the live session. If you have an unavoidable conflict, please inform your instructor beforehand and/or contact us at learning@trainingindustry.com to reschedule your session.
