Strategic Planning Master Class

This pre-conference, half-day master class provides a deep dive into strategic planning and how to apply analysis tools to create a strategic plan. Seating is limited and separate registration is required.*

Training initiatives are most impactful when driven by business outcomes. As a core responsibility of the training manager, strategic alignment is critical for any high-performing training organization. Creating alignment starts with a plan that connects training to organizational goals and a roadmap outlining how those goals are achieved through training processes and initiatives. On the surface, creating this strategic plan appears to be a daunting task. Where do you start?

This half-day master class equips you with the processes you need to successfully create, implement and maintain a strategic plan. By emphasizing the strategic competencies defined in the Training Manager Competency Model™, this course will prepare you for your role in ensuring your training organization’s strategic plan is positioned for success.

In this master class, you will learn how to:

  • Establish a common language with which to understand strategic planning as it relates to your learning organization.
  • Conduct an environmental and gap analysis.
  • Develop a basic strategic plan, action plan and scorecard.
  • Communicate about the value and steps of your plan.
  • Conduct a planning conversation with your team and key stakeholders, using the provided concepts, tools and frameworks.

 

Facilitator: Dr. Vince Eugenio

Dr. Vince Eugenio is an accomplished talent development executive with almost 30 years of progressive experience in large complex organizations. He has held director, vice president, senior vice president, and chief learning officer roles in industries as diverse as telecommunications, financial services, staffing, information management, health care, media, non-profit and multi-family housing.

Vince has expertise in learning strategy, evaluation, performance consulting, operations and sales training, leadership development, blended learning, talent management technology, performance management, and succession planning. Aligned to the strategic priorities of the business, Vince has implemented over 1,000 developmental initiatives and programs.

As part of his responsibilities, Vince has facilitated the creation of L&D as well as HR strategic planning. He has implemented management development programs with an emphasis on coaching, providing feedback, SMART goal setting, and developmental planning. He has also designed and implemented onboarding programs, as well as succession management and leadership development approaches focused on the identification, development, retention, coaching and promotion of high-potential talent.

Vince holds a BS in education and a MS and Ph.D. in instructional technology and adult education from Georgia State University. He holds multiple certifications including, human capital strategist, executive and leadership development coach, career management coach, MBTI practitioner, DiSC facilitator, organizational development practitioner, perf echo facilitator, and leadership program development. He also has certifications from Korn Ferry for their Voices 360, team architect, and leadership architect programs.

Training Industry certificates are valid for eight PDCs for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, and fulfill eight CPTM recertification credit hours.
