Learning leaders should not underestimate design thinking’s potential to creatively and rapidly meet the needs of their learners.
Rapid prototyping is the process of quickly fabricating a scale model using 3D data. It is most often used in the tech and web development industries, where because it allows engineers to quickly move products into the hands of stakeholders and end users.
Think about smartphones, tablets and apps. Their intuitive interface enables us to navigate them with ease. As instructional designers, we should also use these principles when creating e-learning modules — or any digital assets for our learners.
In the prototyping stage, the instructional design team produces a number of inexpensive, scaled down versions of the training solution.
