Totara added 44 new healthcare customers in 2020, reflecting high and continuing demand during the COVID-19 pandemic for more robust, adaptable and scalable learning, engagement and performance management solutions.
Despite an aggressive roll-out of life-saving vaccines currently underway across the globe, full vaccine distribution may not be achieved in many countries until late spring or early summer of 2021. As a result, there is growing demand among organizations from virtually every industry to adopt and expand remote learning and training capabilities.

As the pandemic spread rapidly and lockdowns ensued, healthcare organizations needed to rapidly expand and launch remote learning and training to support new PPE and infection control protocols to protect medical staff and patients while fighting the infection.
Monash Health is the largest public health service in Victoria, Australia providing safe, high-quality care to one-quarter of the population in Melbourne across the entire lifespan, from pre-birth to end-of-life. With the onset of COVID-19, Monash Health, in cooperation with the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services and the Federal Department of Health, urgently needed to deploy Monash Health’s PPE training for 70,000 residential care workers.
Kineo and Totara provided the anytime, anywhere learning solution aimed at care workers that Monash Health needed. They fast-tracked a six-week implementation into just five days to help combat rapidly rising COVID rates in Victoria. Thousands of residential and aged care workers were able to quickly access online training for COVID-19 PPE and infection control protocols. More than 500 residential care sites quickly accessed these life-saving training programs, with more than 7,500 individual completions of PPE learning content.
