COLUMBIA, Md., Nov. 18, 2014 – Global performance improvement solutions provider GP Strategies Corporation has been awarded a two-year contract to provide training services at Eskom’s Medupi Power Station, a coal-fired power plant currently under construction in South Africa.
This contract expands GP Strategies’ current training program at Medupi to include the development of a comprehensive new operator training program and an Eskom instructor training program; both can be leveraged throughout the life of the plant to support continuous learning. Under this new contract, GP Strategies will develop and deliver critical operations training and qualification programs to plant staff.
“We are once again pleased with the vote of confidence Eskom has shown in GP Strategies with this new contract award to support additional operator training of the Medupi operators,” said William Green, Vice President, Energy Services at GP Strategies. “Our collective efforts will help to ensure that the operators of the last four units will be fully prepared to operate the plant in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner,” added Green.
