Human-centered Design

Human-centered design is an approach to problem solving and other design work that starts with the end user in mind. The goal is to develop empathy for that end user and build a solution that will meet that user’s specific needs. According to design firm IDEO, human-centered design includes three phases: the inspiration phase (an empathetic approach to learning about the users and their needs), the ideation phase (which involves prototyping solutions) and the implementation phase (which involves “bring[ing] your solution to life, and eventually, to market”).
