BOSTON — Sept. 10, 2026 — Scrum.org, the Home of Scrum, today announced that it has added a new self-paced online training course, AI Fluency for Product Team Members, to its online learning platform. This interactive course is designed to help people understand artificial intelligence (AI) and how it can be used to improve the delivery of products to market and the accountabilities of those using AI. The course is intended for practitioners and leaders who are designing, building and managing products and want to gain a strong understanding of how AI can better enable their success.

Throughout the course, students will explore level 1 of the AI Fluency Journey Map, a framework that gives individuals and teams a shared language to assess their current AI maturity, target specific skill gaps and identify clear signals of readiness for advanced implementation. Through real-world scenarios, case studies and interactive exercises, students will gain practical techniques to identify when AI produces incorrect results, craft targeted prompts, evaluate AI outputs and adhere to responsibility standards.

“For most of Scrum’s history, the framework and the people using it moved at the same pace. AI is changing that assumption, and teams now move through research, building and routine implementation faster than ever,” said Dave West, CEO of Scrum.org. “At Scrum.org, we view AI fluency as its own capability, not just a symptom of adopting a new tool. This new course is about building that capability deliberately, so teams know where in the delivery lifecycle it matters most.”

In this course, students will learn how to:

  • Use AI in daily work as a product team member.
  • Explain how the AI Fluency Journey Map supports product delivery and Scrum.
  • Mitigate primary AI failure modes through productive skepticism.
  • Apply techniques for effective AI prompting and iteration.
  • Use techniques to review AI outputs.
  • Practice responsible ownership, governance and ethics when using AI.
  • Identify signals of readiness to advance beyond foundational AI use.

Students will leave this course with the understanding and confidence to transform generic AI outputs into valuable product-driven outcomes. This course takes approximately five hours to complete. The course comes with an attempt at the new AI Fluency for Product Team Members (AIF I) certification. At this time, this certification is available exclusively to students who have completed this course.

The AI Fluency for Product Team Members course can now be purchased on the Scrum.org website.
