TAMPA, Fla. — Sept. 7, 2026 — SimpliTrain today announced the release of its MCP server, allowing organizations to query, report on and act against their learning data using the AI assistant of their choice. The server implements the Model Context Protocol, the open standard for connecting AI assistants to business systems, and works with any MCP-compatible client, including Claude, Gemini and ChatGPT.
The distinguishing factor is scope. Because SimpliTrain unifies TMS, LMS and LXP in a single platform, one connection exposes learner progress, assessment results, certification status, instructor schedules, session utilization and compliance records together. Teams working with separate learning systems typically have to connect each one individually and reconcile the results themselves.
What Teams Can Ask Using AI Assistants
Questions are asked in plain language, by text or voice, from within the assistant the team already works in. Examples include:
- “Which learners started the compliance course but haven’t completed it, and how long have they been stalled?”
- “List every certification expiring in the next 60 days, grouped by site.”
- “Build a leaderboard for the sales team this quarter, weighted by assessment score rather than completions.”
- “Compare first-attempt pass rates across our three instructors for the same module.”
- “Which sessions ran under 50% capacity last month, and what did they cost us in trainer time?”
- “Which courses have the highest drop-off, and at which module does it happen?”
Because results return as structured data rather than fixed reports, teams can build their own dashboards, drop the output into a board deck or have their assistant combine learning data with information from other connected systems, such as an HRIS or CRM, without waiting on a reporting request or a custom build.
An Addition to Existing Integration Options, Not a Replacement
SimpliTrain already provides extensive APIs and out-of-the-box integrations with commonly used HRIS, CRM and collaboration systems. Those remain the right choice for scheduled data flows and system-to-system automation. The MCP server adds a third path for the ad hoc, exploratory questions that rarely justify building a report: It removes the gap between having a question about training and getting an answer.

Access through the MCP server respects the role-based permissions already configured in SimpliTrain, so a user cannot retrieve data through an assistant that they could not see in the platform. Connections are authenticated per organization and scoped to read access by default, and activity is recorded in the platform audit log.
