Building Human Judgment: How AI Raises the Bar for Your L&D Strategy

Artificial intelligence (AI) enables individual productivity. It is also changing how organizations communicate across functional silos and make strategic decisions. As routine work gets automated and answers surface faster than ever, building effective cross-functional teams takes stronger leadership skills than before. Navigating rapid change and ambiguity, weighing tradeoffs with imperfect information, reading sources of influence and creating alignment across functions are human skills that cannot be automated. This session looks at what AI automation means for your learning and development (L&D) strategy, and how companies are using experiential, practice-based learning to develop individual and organizational capabilities.
Abilitie CEO Bjorn Billhardt has spent more than 20 years designing experiential leadership programs for Fortune 500 organizations. In this session, he shares a practical point of view on why cross-functional collaboration and decision-making skills belong at the center of L&D strategy, and how experiential learning programs can build those skills. Attendees will leave with a clearer sense of where to focus and how to make the case to their own stakeholders.
Key Takeaways:
- Analyze the human leadership skills most critical to business success as AI takes on routine work: judgment and cross-functional decision making.
- Examine how L&D strategy has to adapt to build cross-functional leadership skills and why experiential learning programs deserve a central place.
- Identify concrete steps to reposition L&D as a catalyst for an AI-enabled, decision-ready workforce, and make that case to executive stakeholders.
