MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — July 28, 2026 — Coursera Inc. (NYSE: COUR) announced a $100 million strategic equity investment in LearnVector Inc., an AI-native learning company founded by Andrew Ng, Coursera’s co-founder.

The investment gives Coursera a one-third ownership interest in LearnVector on a fully diluted basis, according to the company. LearnVector, founded in 2026, is developing AI-powered personalized learning experiences.

Andrew Ng, who co-founded Coursera in 2012 and previously led Google Brain and served as chief scientist at Baidu, will serve as CEO of LearnVector. The new company is creating learning systems that adapt to individual learners using what Ng describes as agentic AI.

“AI will be the greatest force in accelerating human development, if we do it right,” Ng said. “With LearnVector, we’re putting AI to work for human development, transforming learning from the traditional one-to-many model to one-to-one.”

The companies are exploring potential commercial collaborations that would combine LearnVector’s AI technology with Coursera’s content and platform. LearnVector’s first product experiences are targeted for early 2027.

Greg Hart, CEO of Coursera, said the investment reflects the company’s view that AI expands rather than diminishes the market for learning. Coursera’s platform currently reaches more than 300 million learners and 12,000 enterprise customers following its recent combination with Udemy.

A special committee of independent Coursera directors approved the investment after evaluating and negotiating the transaction terms with assistance from advisers.

Coursera will release its second-quarter 2026 financial results on Wednesday, July 29, after the market closes. The earnings conference call will include remarks from Ng regarding the LearnVector investment.
