DOHA, QATAR, June 27, 2014 — The Accreditation Department at the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) is making continuing medical education and professional development (CME/CPD) mandatory for all healthcare practitioners, thus ensuring they continuously upgrade their skills by 2016.

Once implemented, a CME/CPD accreditation would be required for issuance and renewal of a healthcare practitioner license.

“The mandatory CME/CPD participation policy will be implemented for all healthcare practitioners in early 2016 for licensing and renewal (of licenses),” QCHP representatives said in a statement to The Peninsula, Qatar’s English newspaper. “This output ensures that the training and professional development for healthcare professionals in Qatar is of the highest level.”
